Home, in my eyes, is a sophisticated and emotionally stirring journey through song. A landmark work that I think audiences can come back to again and again. Each time listening to Home one might find a new meaning. For me, there are songs on Home that act like antidotes and sometimes inoculations to the trials and tribulations life sometimes brings. But also, Home, is a celebration. For me, Home is a coming home.

For many years, I tried to emulate artists I admired like Tori Amos, Yanni, Sarah Mclachlan, and Elton John. What I knew I needed to do but didn't know I could, was to find my own voice and style. Finding myself through music is ongoing. My music reflects where I am in my life when I am writing it, and also, I guess, the texture of the times I am writing in. My music is also about the future, it’s a way of putting into image, into feeling and sound where I would like to be.

The original vision of Home was a compilation of both new, original works for piano driven adult contemporary ballads and greatest hits. Home accomplishes this with nine new songs, two remakes from recent archives, and a traditional I learned in childhood. It’s twelve tracks on one album, one disc.

Home combines the skilled work of many artisans including musicians, sound engineers, photographers, videographers, sound technicians, and music connoisseurs.

Fans have played a particularly unique and vital role in the production of Home. I could not have done it alone. I tried on albums past to create and release albums without the help of a lot of people. Home was different. I needed all the help I could get. Home put me to task in a way I had never allowed music and art to do.

Together, over the last two years, my fans and music industry colleagues spent hours in the studio. We shared versions of music and lyrics I wrote; recorded, mixed, and mastered Home; put together Pre-CD release shows; performed at open mic nights and home concerts; filmed a campaign video and launched a crowdsourcing campaign; and we sang, danced, meditated, ate, and played together, had slumber parties, and prayed.

For two years, I toured offering my music and familiar sing-alongs at meditation retreats and community workshops and get-togethers. I traveled with friends and solo by foot, bike, airplane, boat, inner tube, bus, train, car, and online through Skype and Facebook, and of course through musical bridges, through song. There were moments I wanted to give up and/or was fed up. And Home, as a project and a process, came through.

For fans who have been anxious for the release of this album and have been waiting and waiting and waiting, this is it! I am so proud. And I am anticipating the days when we will look back at this project. I am pretty certain we can all look back at Home even years to come, and say: "Job well done!"
